soon. few more days to the month of
Ramadhan. the month where most Muslim/Muslimah will be looking forward to.
few reasons why i'm looking forward to it:
1. the opportunity to eating together after
azan mahgrib2. the chances of getting good & great food
3. the preparation for
hari raya is overwelcoming
a busy family like mine. we tend to reach home at different timing. some late & some early in the evening. never we had the chances to gather in the dining room, eating together as a family. honestly, the only time for me & my family to sit down have dinner together is during the fasting month. believe me or not but i know this would happen to some of you too.
when fasting month is around the corner, the availability to get great food are also very high. bazaar
ramadhan will be everywhere (north, south, east, west). of course, can't miss out the bazaar at Geylang & Kampung Glam. by then, the bazaar will also be available at Woodlands, Jurong West, Tampines, etc. just name it what kind of food you feel like eating, for sure you are able to find it. especially, i can't miss out
air khatirah. for those who haven't try it, go on! i'm sure you gonna love it.
correct me if i say that your house will only look nice during
hari raya? everything will be new. everything will be kept cleaned. the preparation of baking cookies & cakes are just so exciting. as usual, since my mum will be selling her famous cakes & cookies, all of us will be busy helping her out. and usually when time draws nearer to
hari raya, i have to show my capabilities in cooking skills. haha. who wanna try my cooking? you might wanna have more of it. haha.
for those who are non-muslim, this month is also known as holy month. all of us will be taking this advantage by reading
Al-Quran, pray (both
wajib & sunnah), doing good deeds, etc. but remember, don't only do it during ramadhan time. practice to make it a habit. it gonna takes time for most of us but i'm sure we'll be able to make it. haha. -
macam ustazah lak-
i have some friends who try out fasting as well as me. it's sound hard to them but actually they have great time. they understand more about the month of
ramdhan. they have better understanding on how we manage to stay strong from dusk to dawn without food. but wait! not only food. you have to "fast" quite a number of thing; not only food & drinks. you can't feed anything into all the holes you have in the body (you know what i mean). you can't see anything obsence such as pornographic. you can't talk back about people. you can't do this. you can't do that. actually, there's a lot of things. slowly, talk to your muslim friends & colleagues, you will understand. =)
maybe in the next post, i could start elaborating more on
ramdhan for your own general knowledge. it's not wrong to learn other culture & customs anyway. it's fun & interesting, i bet you!
