2 more days & by then the muslims will be celebrating hari raya..! it seems to fast that it's almost a month that we have been fasting. so, how's your preparation going on at home? some will be busy cleaning up the mess at home already. some also withdrawing their curtains or putting back with new curtains. some also paint new colour to their house walls. just like someone out there. pity him. being painting since last week. hahaha.
ouch! this happen to one of the bazar at geylang. it's situated in front of hotel 81. the shop owner have suffered lots of money to overcome this. it affect that business of course. but the management told the papers at berita harian that they will rectified asap, hopefully on the same night it will be back as per normal. this incident happen around 7am.
the close up view of it! pity the shop owner. according to the paper, she said that she wanna sell 2 cars on hari raya eve at a discounted price. but due to this situation, they have to fork out money to rectified the problem. new car got into "accident".
water collected from the rainfall was too heavy that the tentage also give way. lots of water have to thrown away. look closely at the picture - how much water is there.
another shop owner that was affected by the heavy rainfall is my dad's friend. if i'm not mistaken his name is mr malik. he stayed at woodlands and once he received call from his staff around 7am, he has to go back to the site. he has to keep aside all the carpets before it's been ruined by the rain.
enough of bad news. pity them but hopefully by now, their businesses are back to normal. insya-allah. one thing that always happen in geylang - seeking for donation. during this month, some of the foreign people tend to take an advantage asking for donation. it is a good deed for a muslims to donate some of their wealth to those who is really indeed of help. but those who asked for donation there seems to be like normal people. they are very healthy too sometimes. just like the picture below - a pakistan guy asking for donation, aiming more on those at the carpark.
so those who drives, be careful of these potential incident to be happen. try to avoid unless they really need our help. some of these people are liars. trust me! based on my experience.
in this month of ramadhan, not only the bazar are packed with customers. not forgetting the wet market. coz you can get everything, almost all kinds of ingredients needed for typical malay food for hari raya. typical malay food such as ketupat, lontong, rendang, ayam masak merah, sambal goreng, kuah satay & many more. you know those food? it's oukaye, no worries. i will take pictures of the food once it's done during hari raya eve. =)
for the majority, it's a must for us to make our own ketupat for raya. very rare or seldom that we buy ketupat (ready-made) but when it comes to unforeseen circumstances, you have no choice but to buy. later after few pictures i show you another picture, those already shaped into real ketupat done by my family.
according to berita harian, who interviewed those above, said that this year, their sales are better than those in previous years. definitely chicken & meat stalls will gain a lot coz most of our food have either chicken or meat. seldom fish. this is becuase during the past, we can't afford to buy chicken & meat as daily food. so, the only time we managed to eat those "expensive" food was during hari raya. from there, the trend/traditional food for hari raya stays till now. 
well, not only the local malays went there to buy our raya stuff. the tourists take this opportunity to drop by geylang to look at our culture & tradition. you know, only once a year it will happen with the lighting up of the lights along the roads. so for those non-malay who read this entry, what are you waiting for? drop by geylang to venture out the atmosphere. don't worry. it close till 2 in the morning and even up till 6am during hari raya eve. =)oukaye then. enough of what's happening at geylang. thanks to berita harian for all the pictures. ahakz. i snap-shot those pictures from the newspaper with the aid of my n95. ceh, promoting my hp. haha.
now, it's time to share with you what my family have prepared so far. check this out!
my family has this trend of making our own ketupat. and once it's ready like this, do place in a cool & dry place so that the leaves won't turn to be dry. next step: fill up around 1/2 of the area with grains. boil them for at least 6 hours. the longer the better where it can last longer. usually my mum will boil it for 8 to 12 hours.
chocholate chip cookies. it taste like famous amos. really! haha. you come to my house & taste it yourself oukaye? haha. i started out making this particular cookies since last year when i watched this making cookies for hari raya show. i've tried out last year and it's yummy! so, this year, again - on the list. =)
since i have lots of cousins, i mean young cousins - it's like a routine for us to have something that will be loved by them. of course deals with chocolate. so above, koko crunch coated with hershey chocolate. yummy! i have back pain doing this. haha. coz it need patient for the chocolate to melt & maing sure that the placing of the koko crunch is nicely placed into the papercup.
another liking of them is honey cornflakes. the most simple cookies. just melted butter into the wok, followed by honey and a little bit of sugar for those who like to be sweet and lastly, pour your cornflakes. mix well and placed them into the papercup. bake in the oven for around 10 mins and tada! marvellous. haha.
kuih makmur - which looks like a leaf shape. one of the traditional kuih for raya. inside are filled with grounded peanuts. after the bake, it is being covered with icing sugar.
another traditional kuih known as kuih tart or pineapple tart. the nice pineapple filling is the source to making powerful kuih tart. a bit messy huh? haha. coz this is for our normal eating. bluek! those not nice we eat. those that looks nice, save for raya. haha.
last but not least - kuih kuaci. kuaci means sunflower seed in malay. mixture with raisins & cornflakes. one of my aunties forte. easy to make as well.
since 10pm just now, everyone must be sitting down in front of their television set to watch formula 1 singtel singapore grand prix practice session which was shown live for an hr. and not forgetting, set another meeting with your sofa & tv tomorrow (10pm) and sunday (7.30pm) nights for the qualifying rounds & grand final rounds respectively. so, who do you think will win the race? will these top 5 f1 drivers won this race: lewis hamilton, felipe massa, robert kubica, kimi raikkonen & nick heidfeld?
after 24 days of fasting in the month of september, i would like to thanks my friends, my colleagues: sheila, endy & hanafi for spending their time that we finally manage to break our fast together yesterday on 24/09/08. we had lots of laughter even with our food in our mouth. sheila had her mp blk visit and hanafi, on the other hand had his rc meeting yesterday. so, we decided to break fast together at jurong point, delifrance. we were so engrossed with our meals that in the end i forgotten to take pictures of what we had. but at least, we manage to take pictures 2-by-2.
happy couple always: sheila & endy. and they are getting married in july 2009. insya-allah. i always pray for your happiness. =)
and not forgetting the other 2 which is us: me & hanafi. thanks to you for making my life happier with all your nonsense jokes. bluek!

well, if you wanna know, this week is my holiday week. just one week and it pass by very very fast. tml is already friday and not much enjoyment yet i have. ahakz. like people say, "enough is never enough". haha. feel like wanna go out tml, saturday and sunday. you know, weekends! but i think i'm stuck on sunday to clean up the house. coz hari raya is just around the corner. =)
so, for sure, i'm meeting up with my ex-colleagues. went back to office to meet them just now. chat with them. laugh with them. share stories with them. everything with them. hahaha. took some candid pictures of them and i shall show it here, right here. hehe.

well, you can see from the pictures how lively are they, how easy-going are them and this also shows how their existence in my life brings me the sunshine that i need. they are very interesting people. each and everyone of them has their own character of course. everyone of them has their own way in making my life so freshen up. their happy-go-lucky kind of character too gives me the access way to mix with them easily. thanks for being there for me all these while my dearest sweetheart! love you all.

hmmm, next outing - sentosa? batam? when? i really can't wait for that event. i really can't. for sure it gonna be fun!
without realising it, time is moving on very very fast & it has been 3 weeks already that we as a Muslims being fasting in the month of september. alhamdulilah.
upon listening to the song that keeps on playing repeating-ly in my blog, it makes me remembering something, someone. hmmm. only God knows who am i referring to.
are you in need of a tutor for your child?
i've talked a lot about my friends, my colleagues and how they always make my day sunshine every moment i'm with them. but in this entry, enuf of them for temporary. i gonna talk about my family.
me, being the oldest grandchild for my father's side, leading me to show great example for the rest of my cousins. in the picture, it's only half of us. there are still missing. above pictures shows how much nonsense we everytime create when we tend to meet up with each other. haha. above only shows cousins from 4 families. 5 more families missing. anyway, this picture was taken last year during hari raya at one of my aunty's house.
for those who didn't know - my grandfather was an actor at jalan ampas; salleh kamil. yes, famous for his bad character in almost all the movies. above picture is my grandparents from my mum's side. such famous show that are well known are isi neraka, tiga abdul, penarik beca, sargent hassan, etc. and together with him in the picture is my grandmother - whom i'm pampered with since young. both of them passed away in 1998 and 2004 respectively. i lost someone for me to turn too when i'm home, my grandmother. i'm very very close to her coz since young she was the one that take good care of me. a great lost indeed. and most of time, when i'm down, i just tend to miss her a lot. and ryte now, i'm missing her too.
thanks to my uncle for doing such picture mosaic. really nice. and this is the picture of each and everyone of the family members from my father's side. except one or two who were born after this was being created. haha.
as you can see, i'm really close with my father's side of the family members. we tend to go out almost every weekends. organize an event everytime during public holidays & etc. with them, i will be happy too coz all my aunties & uncles are expert in creating jokes and sure will make your day more shiner. and even during raya, all of us will be wearing the same colour. let me see if i have pictures to support that.

as seen in my picture, it was taken in 2004. and me, extreme left, the one holding the baby. it's my newborn cousin. 
and the baby that i was holding from the above picture is actually her as at last year picture above. we organized a trip to KL last year i think. and all of us had lots of fun - shopping, sight-seeing & lastly enjoying ourselves at genting highlands. i love genting and i wish i could go there again. =) 
last but not least, even during national day - all of us will meet up to watch the fireworks and not forgetting to wear either red or white. haha. very interesting family isn't it?
great events are worth to be shared. and so, here i am sharing with you 1 of the event that happen within me & my colleagues before the season of ramadhan. 2 more days when the fasting month will be coming and all of us decided to plan out something for our outing. after planning & thinking & getting opinion from the rest, finally we decided on settlers' cafe. for some who didn't know about this place - it's actually a place for you to have fun while having some food in front of you. the fun here means having fun playing board games. all sort of board games. even most of them we don't even know it exists.
buddy lover! we love each other.. or maybe we love bully-ing each other.. ;-)

in the previous entry, i talk & mention about my colleagues. how important they are to me. how great memories lies within us. how things bring up my life to the wonderful sunshine ahead. but today, i gonna introduce you to the rest of my friends who have been there for me since in my poly life.
above: jiha. for 6 semesters in a row, she has been my classmates without fail. we gone through life together in school. we gone through attachment even at the same company although it's at different department. she is someone who can continuously give up advices whenever you need of one. she is a very nice person and i enjoy being by her side. in conclusion, she & sheila have been there for me in whatever means, even if it's early in the morning or late at night. they know how easy & hard my life has been. they know me inside out. they know every single thing about me. we shared common interest in studies. we shared great memories with each other. we shared same thoughts and afterall they are really my true friends. and i appreciate every single thing that they have done towards me.

above: ronald. my brother in the class. he is very nice guy but somehow sometimes irritating. oopz! haha. just kidding. he know where to get help whenever he need of it - either me, jiha or sheila. but can't denied, among the 3 of us, he is more closer to me. he can just tell me his past secrets with me. but sadly, this brother of mine didn't manage to graduate together with us. but i'm always here to pray for the best of you and hopefully you make it this time around. make sure you graduate oukaye? all of us will be waiting.
above: jun han. the most crazy guy i ever known. although he only join us during our last semester in school, yet it feel so good to be with him. he is one big joker. his role is to bully each and everyone of us. but whenever me, jiha & sheila combined our forces, we bully him back. nobody can bully us! haha. very hardworking guy. easily get kanchong when due date are drawing nearer. but he always get motivated when he is with me & jiha - consider our group mate. we shared our night together struggling on with our projects. we shared our jokes & laughter. the 3 of us like have known each other like for so long. currently, he is serving his NS. good luck brother!
so sad that during te last semester sheila get slight adrift with us coz she is in the different class. but that doesn't mean that we stop communicating with each other. indeed during this period of them, me & jiha miss her so much. coz we seldom meet each other. during lectures even coz among all 6 modules we took, only 2 lectures are the same as hers. and evern for projects, she has to concentrate with her final year projects. i really pity her being alone & full of problems. but i know she is strong. just look at her now.
and among all those poly friend, i wann include one more person.
the person is endy, sheila's fiancee. a very nice guy who continuous support sheila from her back in whatever she do. and he has been there to help me throughout whenever i need their help. when sheila help me out, endy will be there too. soon, in a year to come, i can't wait to attend their wedding ceremony. hoping that everything will go on smoothly.
well, despite having much of family love, i'm actually fortunate to have some great friends & colleagues around me. they will always be there for me. they will always support me from the back. they will continuously give me unmeasurable motivation & encouragement. and i know i can't pay it to them by money. but thus me, i LOVE all of you. thanks for being there for me. thanks for everything single thing. *hugs & kisses*
among all my colleagues from various workplace, i just dunno why i love my HKTC colleagues so much. maybe because we shared jokes, laughter & sadness moments together that makes me hard to forget them. of course i will not forget them. each & everyone of them has done something to do that change my life - from being stress & sad to a happy life now. and thus, in this entry, i will introduce you to them and how important are them to me.
above: jiahui, our senior. among all the colleagues, he is the only one that have more than one nicknames brought by upon us or maybe me! haha. each and everyone of us has a nickname that start with our initial. and for him, we called him jumbo. dun ask me why coz i didn't know why either. maybe coz we didn't have any other names for him? haha. basically, he is known for his kind-hearted. willing to help all the others when we are indeed of help. he can be there for you if you are struggling with your work. one thing about him, he changed from being someone very quiet, he is now very "talkative" guy in the office. he starting to bully us. he starting to bring up jokes with us. why? maybe ever since he has fallen for my buddy.
above: huimin aka hubbell - my lovely buddy who now become "smarter". haha. and yes, she is taken by jiahui. they are such a sweet couple. they really deserve to be with each other. sometimes, looking at them together, how they love each other already makes me happy. oopz, out of point. well, she is a very nice person and she is always there for me beside my close friends. she is now the smartest among us. haha. all her stupidity has fallen on me, here i am, become stupid. haha. she love to say the word "stupid" actually. haha. but it's all about jokes within the colleagues. no worries. the thing about her, she likes to tease me with any colleague of ours. she will go into details to dig all our secrets. naughty her. haha. but it's oukaye coz there's where each and everyone of us will be happy bullying each other.
above: hanafi aka horny - the one who i'm close. and this is the guy too that huimin will non-stop teasing us being together. i dunno why and what they look into us actually. haha. "pakcik" among the colleague coz he is the oldest among the rest of us. but i salute him coz he manage to get into our environment being in our 20s. that's the reason why too he can click with us despite his age. a very nice guy and indeed he has help me in a lot of matter - be it in working life or personal life. he is always there to cheer me up in whatever means to ensure that i'm always happy. his jokes, his laughters will break my laughter & smile out every single day. and he loves bullying me. bluek!
above: sheila aka sexy or shorty? haha. most importantly about her - she know every single thing in me and she is one of my friend that i will never forget her good deed. she has done a lot for me. she has been there since 5 years ago. she has been such a good friend indeed and i just love being with her. she has been my listening ear, my shoulder to cry on. everything, just name it. we went to poly together. spending our school stress for 3 years together and then we got separated when she got this job. but god really meet us together that i manage to be in the same office us her and i'm excited for that news. and the thing in her in the workplace, she will join in the fun together with huimin to tease me & hanafi. haha. it's oukaye then, coz all of us love joking around with each other. it's part of our daily necessity. haha.
above: cailing aka cutie - she is sheila's buddy. she is known for her ability in eating a lot compared to the other girls. don't be sensitive oukaye coz i wanna put it in a compliment way. when it comes to buffet outings, bringing her is the best. she can eat as much as she can. we know that she is stress at work but don't worry coz you have the other colleagues to be by your side to help you by all means. but this colleague of mine loves talking. just start with something and she can talk and tell you every single thing that she know. another compliment indeed coz if you are bored, you can simply approach her and start talking with her.
above: cailing with her best friend, charmaine and i'm talking about charmaine. sorry coz i don't have her picture alone. haha. maybe one day i should take her picture like the rest. she is also known as candy. she prefer that rather than those we gave it to her. haha. but most importantly, she is very soft spoken. very nice and very sweet indeed. but she did laugh together with us upon all those office jokes we had and right now, we are teasing her with another single guy colleague which i will introduce later. haha. pity her. i know how you feel coz i feel that too. haha.
above: mike aka sex maniac (derieve from his name soon ming) - the person who took over my place and i'm glad that he is coping well at work. even if he couldn't, great colleagues are always around. he is very outspoken and it's good coz he got not paiseh-ness in talking to us or even strangers. haha. good to bring him along if wanna do survey i guess. haha. he's nice too and now he is hanafi's smoking buddy. ahakz. one thing about him, he likes to look at girls. oopz, did i just say that? haha. well, i guess all guys like to do that anyway, can't be blame - nature of guys. haha.
above (talking on the phone): recca - who spend his working time with us for few months before she resign and move on somewhere else. she is another joker coz she is known for jiahui "precious". haha. actually she is jiahui's ex-buddy before charmaine took over her soon after she left. her cheeky-ness is there and yet she said i'm the one who is cheeky. so bad! haha. but i hope that she is having fun working in the new environment. despite being in different places, we still keep in touch with her especially when we had lunch nearby her workplace.
above (last but not least): sukmawati - before mike took over me, i took over her place before she left in april. she is a very supportive mum indeed. her sons were so cute. and she is such a nice person. she helped me a lot. although i have problems after she left, she is there to guide me through whenever she is free and thanks to her for that and i manage to work well on the job scope. similar to recca, we still keep in touch thru email & phone calls and i hope that we will continue be contacted.conclusion: i'm fortunate to found such wonderful colleagues. although i have left the office, i'm yet keep in touch very closely with them. the tie is still there. the existence of them is still there in me. and whenever i'm bored, they will just be there to keep me accompanied. thanks to them and i really hope that we could remains close as usual till the end of time.
